no just no how about you don’t generalize all tumblr feminists with the small percentage of females that go overboard and give actual feminists a bad name ok cool

I find when i fight with the rad fems( ie sexist lunatics) of tumblr i often get told by more reasonable feminists not to pay attention to the rad fems because they dont accurately reflect what feminism is really about. But to be honest i find that most other feminists just try to sweep the radical fems under the rug and ignore them rather than confront them. I think I would have a greater appreciation for feminism if it actually turned on the rad fems and called them out as the sexists and hate mongers that they really are. Ive heard everything on that list spewed on tumblr by people who call themselves feminists and the only response i ever hear from other feminists is “dont listen to that its not an accurate reflection”.  Theyre detrimental to your cause and should be fought like any other hate group.

I’ve often wanted to bait a feminist into saying a radfem isn’t a “real feminist”, then link the radfem to what they said and watch the sparks fly.
But that would be trolling, and more importantly wouldn’t solve anything. I think it’s kind of hypocritical to complain about problems you’re not willing to help solve, and feminists going NAFALT falls under that. Permutation of Ninjas has actively called out misogyny on several occasions, as has A Voice For Men, of all places. In fact, they once “kicked a guy out of the MRM”.
When you just go “they’re not real feminists” without asking yourself why they think they are, you’re not actually solving the problem.

cobblepot:

You’re damn right I’m going to screencap your disgusting rape apologist spiel, because you need to be called out.
You literally just said, you don’t think women are capable of raping men, despite the fact THE STATISTICS SAY THEY CAN.
You need to pull your head out of your arse, and realise women are rapists too, and make up 80% of the rapists who attack men.Especially considering that you’re not only being misandric as all hell, by saying that male rape victims who had a female perpetrator don’t matter, but also being misogynistic as fuck, by claiming that women universally don’t have the strength to ever dominate a man, but that they are literally incapable of raping a man.
You are a disgusting sexist, and I’m pretty sure even other feminists would agree with me in saying that you’re a vile person who should rethink their views.

I’m not sure if I reblogged this before, nor do I care.

I’d take Men’s Rights Activists more seriously if they would admit that the issues they struggle with a reflection of a system created by men that dictates how men should act. For example, men decided that men should be ultra masculine, shouldn’t wear certain clothes, etc. So, the unease you feel when people judge you for it isn’t because women only want “manly men,” but because everyone is brought up in a system where that is how men are told they’re supposed to act. It’s not simply women sending you oppressive waves that stop you/make you feel uncomfortable from doing things that the “default” man isn’t supposed to do or say or wear.

-

Where the not so wild things are:

So you’d listen to MRAs once they accept your premise that any “issues” they address - not oppression, not sexism, just “issues” - are all men’s fault, and women have no part in it whatsoever.

Sorry, no. Patriarchy is a male-dominated system, but that does not mean men were solely responsible for creating mores that are sexist against men, or perpetuating them. And, like cobblepot said, there aren’t really any MRAs who think that the System doesn’t perpetuate these things. The System is, once again, not the same as “men”.

I like how you literally can’t even address the claims that women perpetuate sexism against men. You have to sardonically strawman it into this “sending out invisible waves” nonsense.

And that's how Men's Rights Advocates were born.

  • Alexis: Fight for women's rights and equality!
  • Bobbie: Pardon me, but as a man, I have noticed several areas in which women have an advanta--
  • Alexis: Nope, can't be bothered.
  • Bobbie: Excuse me?
  • Alexis: Bigger fish to fry.
  • Bobbie: What?
  • Alexis: We're fighting for equality for women. We'll get to men later.
  • Bobbie: When?
  • Alexis: When we're done getting equality for women.
  • Bobbie: So you're working so men get the same advantages women do, or to remove those advantages from women somehow?
  • Alexis: No, that would be unfair. We'll get around to men when we're done.
  • Bobbie: You'll get around to fighting for men's rights when you achieve a nebulous and hard-to-define goal, which is subjective anyway and will never be reached in our lifetimes?
  • Alexis: Um...
  • Bobbie: How are you going to have equality with men if you only care about men's rights and privileges when they affect women?
  • Alexis: Are you going to fight for women's rights or not?
  • Bobbie: You want me to fight for women's rights, but won't do the same for men?
  • Alexis: So that's a no?
  • Bobbie: Tell you what; I'll get to it when I'm done fighting for men's rights.
