“I’m a Black person and I don’t think this is raci-“
Finally. A post that, quite literally, proves they will not listen to anyone that disagrees with them. How sad.
Incidentally, the person who made the initial post defended themselves by saying they’re a black gay male. The hypocrisy of trying to lend his opinion more weight by using the very behavior he decries seems to have completely escaped him.
No, wait, that would require self awareness.
Also escaping him is that he’s dismissing someone’s opinion solely on the basis of whether he disagrees with it or not. Curiously, he only responded to the criticism about five people down the reblog chain. And he doesn’t actually address what was actually said, instead preferring to attack what he thinks of the person instead of discussing their point.
Gosh, that seems familiar.
“I believe everyone should be entitled to their opinions, but the ones that disagree with my beliefs are privileged white [donkeys] that know nothing and therefore their opinions must be disregarded. If they’re not caucasian rich privileged people and still say that I’m wrong, they should know that their case doesn’t represent every singe case despite the fact that I use singular facts to prove others wrong, so these people are also dumb [idiots]. I’m in a social justice boat.”
Chocolate Dandy, I don’t want you to explain anything, and never asked you to. You do not have a logically consistent position. Implying, even jokingly, that other people should be disregarded solely because they think something isn’t racist is not defensible, regardless of their skin color. Add to that the hypocrisy of bringing up your race when trying to defend yourself, and I simply don’t want to listen to you. You’ve shown, quite clearly, you can’t be swayed by logic. In fact, you’ve weaved this whole conspiracy theory.
Disagreeing with someone on an often highly subjective issue is not “silencing”. Dismissing someone out of hand and telling them they should not even express their opinion because they disagree with you is. Your initial post did not explain anything. It just said black people who disagree with you about whether something is racist should shut up, and literally nothing you’ve said indicates you think the other person could actually be right.
You’re saying that every accusation of racism should automatically be considered valid and the contrary opinions ignored, which I find laughable, given that the NAACP was decrying a talk greeting card that mentioned “black holes” as racist. It’s logically about the same as feminists who refer to every woman who makes a rape accusation as a victim, even when they confessed to lying, had been convicted of perjury, and had sent a man to jail for years, such as in the case of Biurny Peguero.
I like how you’re pretending your Half-Page+ of text was adequately conveyed by your single line and gif. The one you deleted.
Sopphs: I’ve literally been in a conversation that went like this.
Alex (black person): You’re wrong, Bob. White people never experience discrimination, and any minority will agree with me.
Me: I’m a black immigrant, and I disagree with you.
Alex: Well, you’re an immigrant, so you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
Me: I already gave you examples of discrimination against white people, like Reginald Denny. You are responding to a story where Bob was told, to his face, that he couldn’t be hired solely because he was white and male. You are objectively wrong.
Alex: Look, I understand that white people might have issues, but they can’t really be discriminated against.
